Singing and Reading Celebration!!

On Friday the 26th we had some exceptional guests for our story and singing celebration. The students shared two books they had written during the month and also two songs they have learned over the past few weeks. 

My mom and dad (Mr. and Mrs. Hildreth), our UNCC volunteer (Ms. Marisa), Ms. Royal, and even a future 1st grader Cheyenne came to be our audience and share a popcorn shack afterward! The students had a great time showing off their books and feeling like real authors. 

They had and even better time singing Hound Dog to show off their reading skills. Song fluency helps our first graders with tracking and sight word skills.
