Appalachian Trail

Mrs. Barr will be not be in school on Monday the 22nd. I am in Georgia taking Mr. Barr to the start of the Appalachian Trail. He will start here on the top of Springer Mountain, GA. He will end on top of Mount Katahdin, ME around Labor Day. He will walk over 2,178 miles by the time he finishes. His pack weighed 38 pounds at the start, that is more than some of the students in our class!! 

 If you would like to follow his journey you can check out his page with an adult's help. 

We will follow his progress in our classroom on the map of the United States. He will travel through 14 states on his way to Maine. He has promised to send our class many postcards along the way! We love to get mail!! I will be back on Tuesday, so make me proud! I expect everyone to have a good, great or OUTSTANDING day!
